The iTEM Moodle Platform (Work-Package Two)
The iTEM central Moodle Platform is launched. To reach the platform, please click here. To assess the modules, the coordinator should provide credentials (c.petridischania@gmail.com). All the modules in Linear Algebra I & Calculus I in the test Institutions will be uploaded. All the responsible Academics should update their modules with the teaching materials enriched with the iTEM principles and tools.

The iTEM educational outcomes will be listed below per Work Package. So:
Workpackage One: Preparation
- Deliverable 1.1: Topics to be integrated into Linear Algebra I and Calculus I; HAC and HIT, along the 1st four months of the project, collected the curricula of Linear Algebra I and Calculus I from all the partner Institutions, combined them, and built two joint curricula. Work-Package Two: Development

- Deliverable 2.1: How to Teach Mathematics (prepared by HIT & HAC) – please check
- Deliverable 2.2: Training Seminars in Innovative Teaching Methodologies & Produced Educational Material for Academics / Teachers in Math – please check for AAU School / Please check for the Webinar in Mathematics Education / Please check online training session for students at Karlstad University.
- Deliverable 2.3: Automating Test & Practice; all the modules tested in HMU, NUUz, HAC, and the University of Pristina (hosted in Moodle) incorporated as the primary per-week assessment tool frequent testing exams (mainly employed multiple-choice questions & integrated into the Moodle) – you need to log in to the central Moodle Platform to review them (please contact with cpetridis@hmu.gr)
- Deliverable 2.4: Building Visualizations and Computer Algebra Systems; the Mathematica & GeoGebra Software are employed for the visualizations along the modules tested during phase alpha. All the visualizations have been uploaded into the shared folder system and can be found in the Moodle Platform for the modules that have been tested during the alpha phase.
- Deliverable 2.5: Development & Training in the use of software that identifies students to fall back; UMIT has started the process and is in contact with all the Institutions that participated along with testing phase alpha: on how to use the learning analytics to identify and track the weak learners. On top of this, a course on how to use the Moodle Platform is already constructed and is available in the Moodle Platform (by UMIT and FINKI), and a module for teachers On how to use the Learning Analytics is under construction (by HMU)
- Deliverable 2.6: Roll Out Events to test iTEM techniques & tools; However, the COVID-19 restrictions on the iTEM approaches were tested (from 1st of February 2020 – to May 2020) in HMU, NUUz, HAC, and University of Pristina. More than 400 and 40 students and Academics were trained during this testing phase. The next phase beta will start in October 2020 in all the partner Institutions.

iTEM Surveys – Reports
- After the progress meeting hosted in Prague by CVUT, the test Institutions HMU, HAC, TUIT, and FINKI provided to Weissman results from surveys run within their academic & student population to highlight the importance of iTEM for them. Prof. Ronnie Karsenty from WIS is the responsible academic for this task. The results are expected soon.
- A survey within the iTEM consortium to identify the strategies and technologies used along with Math teaching. The survey will help shape a more efficient process and incorporate other ICT tools than the current one. Responsible partner for this task is UMIT from Austria and Dr. Elske Ammenwerh & Dr. Werner Hackl. The survey will be completed after the 1st Intensive Course in Aalborg (October 2019). The report with the final results will be released by December 2019

- We postponed the event in KSU for the forthcoming June; new dates for the face-to-face format of this event will be announced. Next week I will have a Zoom meeting with Adrian and Mirela about our options during the autumn.
- We will discuss with WIS, KSU, and ULL the possibility of running a case study and attempting the run of Adrian’s event as an online version (without canceling the face-to-face event)
- Regarding the event in Tirol and North Macedonia, the situation will be re-evaluated by the end of July.
- FINKI will make a copy of the courses run in NUUz, UoP, and HAC into the central Moodle Platform so everyone be able to check the progress of the project
- All the test Institutions in Phase A should start to prepare the multiple-choice questions they will use for the frequent testing and send them to me. Then we will have a Zoom meeting on how to use them to generate a pool of questions that anyone can exploit. Please do t by the end of April.
- A Zoom meeting with AAU, CVUT, KSU, and UMIT regarding the last action for the support policies the iTEM suggests for weak learners.
- HIT should deliver the teaching guide by April
- I will have a Zoom meeting with Ronnie and her team on how to exploit their expertise using online tools in the frame of the course we run here in Crete
- HIT will contact Mathematica regarding the licenses of HAC, and the webinars should run across the Israeli partners on the frame of Mathematica. I will do the same for the case of Uzbekistan (e.g., NUUz and KEEI)

- All the partners will contribute to the new ‘Colloquial Talks in Teaching Mathematics’ initiative, which will start in October 2022.
- The partners have decided to issue a book on the topic ‘Real Life Problems in Mathematics’ Responsible partner for this task will be HIT.
- All the partners will contact Ms. Anna Orfanoudaki (HMU) with your financial offices to start the collection of financial documents regarding the final report.
